Using Descriptive Words: Fast

As writers we need to improve our Vocabulary. We cannot inundate our readers with the same words repeatedly. Words Like, fast, very, hot, sad…these are common words we all use to describe and action or how we feel.
Instead of using the word Fast, here are a few Synonyms that will give your writing a little extra boost.
Nimble,
Swift,
Hurried,
Fleeting,
Agile,
In a Jiffy,
Lickety Split,
Like a bat out of hell,
Supersonic,
Snappy,
Presto,
On the double,
Instead of writing ‘he ran out the house fast’ write, “He ran out the house like a bat out of hell.” With the new version it gives the reader a better understanding of how important it was for your character to leave.
Changing a word can give the readers a new understanding.

Possible Causes :
Having a naturally inquisitive outlook.
Growing up in an environment where exploration and asking questions was encouraged
Having a thirst for knowledge.
Possessing an adventurous spirit
Associated Behaviors:
Asking questions
Having strong observation skills
seeking out people with similar interests. Listening in on the conversations of others
Collecting things
Showing disdain for rules, boundaries, and limits.
Not becoming bored easily
Losing track of time
Joining groups or clubs
Breaking rules in order to follow an idea or interest
Thinking about the What if?
Obsessive tendencies
Associated Thoughts:
Look at the two of them whispering. I’ll corner Ella later and find out what’s going on.
Interesting, how different animal species huddle together in specific environment.
Before Harold cast his fishing line, he rolls his wrist. I need to ask him why he does that.
Associated Emotions:
Confidence
Curiosity
Eagerness
Positive Aspects:
Curious characters are drawn to problems or inconveniences that other people would choose to avoid.
Characters who are curious easily stumble upon mysteries or involve themselves in dangerous matters . they can conveniently introduce conflict into a story line.
Negative Aspects:
Curious characters are often impulsive, acting with out thinking. They can be single-minded to a fault.
Those who are curious are frequently more interested in their current topic of exploration than their relationship and may not understand or appreciate those without a similar level of curiosity.

I don’t think I could do ricks job, with all those deadlines and long hours
Associated Emotions:
Amusement, happens, indifference
Positive Aspects:
They are easy characters to be around. Rather than stress over things that are out of their control they go with the flow.
Negative Aspects:
They don’t always have the same priorities as other people. Their mellow approach to life may lead others to believe that they’re apathetic or lack passion
Traits in supporting characters that may cause conflict:
Ambitious,
introverted
Judgmental
Melodramatic
Needy
Challenging Scenarios for the easy going
Seeing a friend or loved on in chronic pain
Having a desire or need so important that one would do anything to obtain it
Experiencing a tragedy or disaster that pulls one out of one’s temperate emotional range.

I feel like people tend to imagine achilles as being big and hairy and muscle-bound but I just want to remind y’all that he apparently spent quite a long time disguised as a girl and nobody could fucking tell?? including Odysseus, who had to trick him into revealing himself, but was apparently not smart enough to figure out which of the beautiful women in front of him was a man in a dress???

so like please consider: petite fine-boned achilles. achilles with killer cheekbones and big dark eyes w long eyelashes. ppl meeting achilles and being all “you’re the one who’s supposed to be a scary warrior?” and then later he he picks up trojans twice his size and flings them across the battlefield and they’re like ‘oh’. achilles being significantly shorter than hector and needing to tilt his head back to yell at him. patroclus being able to sling achilles over his shoulder. patroclus giving achilles piggyback rides. achilles needing patroclus to reach stuff down for him sometimes. achilles being the little spoon. tiny pretty achilles okay

Actually pretty accurate because Greeks tend to view those kind of bodies as what men were supposed to be, compared to how we view what a man is supposed to look like now. Look at how the statues of Gods and Heroes are the opposite of we view the heroic build today.

I’d like to add that men fucking men in Ancient Greece always looked a certain way - there would always be an Older Hairy One and a Younger Smooth One, and anything outside of this binary pairing was considered morally bankrupt. As Patroclus is the older one of the pair according to Homer (Book XI, Patroclus’s father says “My child, in birth is Achilles nobler than thou, but thou art the elder though in might he is the better far”) so he’s going to be the Large Hairy, and Achilles by necessity will be the Small Smooth.
